Quick facts

What this app does

Grid Board is a projector-first percussion timing-grid generator. It gives teachers and students a large, playable classroom view for verified sixteenth-note and triplet timing grids without drawing a new board or searching through a packet.

What you can practice

  • Sixteenth-note grids with one, two, or three attacks per beat

  • Triplet grids with one or two attacks per beat

  • Full-subdivision checks

  • Four-bar and complete 4–2–1 forms

  • Quarter-note, eighth-note, and full-subdivision written rates

  • Pattern-only and checked practice

  • Shareable links that reopen an exact exercise, tempo included

How to use it

  1. Choose the grid family and number of played positions.

  2. Choose a variation and written rate.

  3. Turn the Check on when you want a full-subdivision reference.

  4. Select the four-bar or 4–2–1 form.

  5. Start playback and follow the live highlight.

  6. Use board-only mode for a clean projector view.

  7. Use Copy link to save or send the exercise exactly as it is on screen.

Share an exercise

The web address always describes the exercise you are looking at. Build the grid you want, then press Copy link on the board to copy that address.

Opening the link reopens the same exercise: grid family, number of played positions, variation, pattern order, written rate, check setting, form, and tempo. Nothing is stored and no account is involved — the settings travel inside the link itself.

Use it to prepare a grid before rehearsal and open it on the projector, to send a specific exercise to a student, or to bookmark the grids a section uses most. You can also copy the address straight out of the browser bar; it is the same link.

Controls and accessibility

Grid Board supports keyboard operation, visible focus, reduced-motion preferences, and layouts for projectors, tablets, phones, and board-only presentation. If native fullscreen is unavailable, the app provides a board-focused fallback.

Privacy

Grid Board requires no account, creates no student profile, and stores no classroom records. It runs client-side.

Help and feedback

When reporting a problem, include the app name, build, page URL, browser, what you expected, and what happened.

Both buttons open a panel that shows the message before it is sent, with Open in my email app and Copy details — so a report can still be sent from webmail on a school device that has no email app set up.
