What this app does

Rhythm Repper helps percussion students make, read, and repeat one measure of 4/4. Build a rhythm from approved cells, read engraved notation and counting, edit the sticking, and practice the result with a steady check.

What you can practice

  • All straight-sixteenth attack patterns

  • Eighth-note-triplet attack and rest patterns

  • Standard, Eastman, or Takadimi counting

  • Natural or alternating sticking from either hand

  • Manual sticking changes for individual attacks

  • Quarter-note, eighth-note, or sixteenth-note checks

  • Continuous loops and checked 4–2–1 practice

How to use it

  1. Build one measure by choosing a rhythm cell for each beat.

  2. Choose the counting system and whether to show the count row.

  3. Choose natural or alternating sticking and a leading hand; adjust individual notes if needed.

  4. Choose the check and practice format.

  5. Set the tempo, press Play, and follow the engraved rhythm.

  6. Pause to hold your exact place or Stop to return to the beginning.

Controls and accessibility

  • Space: play or pause

  • Escape: stop

The app uses semantic controls and supports keyboard operation plus projector, Chromebook, tablet, and mobile layouts.

Privacy

Rhythm Repper requires no account and does not fingerprint students. It records only an anonymous aggregate count of practice starts; it does not create student profiles or practice histories.
